Just a note, the beautiful Munjaane Suriyanane song also exists in tamil, if you're interested. Premji did music for some movie named Gnabagam Varuthey couple of years back, and this song was composed then. It's a male solo with Karthik, give it a listen if interested. IMO the new one in Nannusire sounds a bit more mature, some small changes have been made reflecting Premji's growth as a musician.

When I heard the song (in Kannada), I remember thinking it's a good thing he chose a competent singer like Sujatha. The song is set to a rather high pitch, and if it had been some other singer singing I might have been very turned off from the song. (think of Mahalkshmi Iyer's Oho Sanam! *shudder*)
Same in Tamil, Karthik's a nice choice :)
