Maro Charitra(Telugu,Mickey J Meyer)

Ranjith and Varun Sandesh are good in We Dont Care-But even though it has its elements, the song is so dated and familiar to strike an impact.Prema Prema also seems to be straight out of Mickey's repertoire, but this song works, mainly due to the honey-coated tune and Karthik's vocals.Shweta Pandit's Ninnu Nannu is astoundingly beautiful-While Shweta rocks completely with her vocals,it is the surreal backgrounds that hits the bulls eye in this song.In the last 2 tracks,Mickey retunes two MS Vishwanathan's tracks and they are the highlights of this soundtrack-Shweta Pandit is again at the thick of the things in Ye Teega Poovuno and the mesmerizing tune is a sure-shot winner. The other track,Bale Bale Mogadivoy with its groovy arrangements and a mighty impressive tune is maha-addictive.Mickey J Meyer delivers another winner with Maro Charitra!

Kedi(Telugu,Sandeep Chowta)

Kedigadu has Sunidhi Chauhan getting into the thick of things, with the backgrounds having the trademark Sandeep Chowta style and the song definitely works.Arijith Singh sounds almost like Ramana Gogula at places in Neeva Na,a beautifully packaged melody while Enduko Enthaki scores an ace when it comes to the tune and the bizarre rendition by Saleem Shahida especially in the sufi'ish does add charm-And the brooding Enigma'ish backgrounds in this track is fantastic!Relarey, beyond Sonu Kakkar's vocals has the composer infusing some very exotic sounds and finally the tune which takes different turns is the highlight of the song.Sandeep's vocals and the tune,in that order are scintillating in Short and Sweet and exposes the composer's creativity to the fullest!..Rahul Nambiyar's reggae'ish Neelo Emunnadi is funky and catchy and works pretty well while the composer takes over from where Devi Sri Prasad left in Jagadam in the catchy Mu Mu Muddante remix.Neha Kakkar's Janiya Jane after an enthralling start takes the fast route, but with the spunky sound intact and Neha Kakkar's rendition is awesome!..Kedigadu's orchestra version is nothing short of brilliant-Sandeep infuses some completely stunning violin sounds in the middle which adds an astoundingly dazzling effect!Trust Nag to come out with Sandeep's best in a long time-And the composer does,in his own style!

Namo Venkatesa(Telugu,Devi Sri Prasad)

Roping Mano to croon the title song is pleasantly surprising, but the song is still seeped in Devi's style and works only to an extent.Karthik completely gets into the scheme of things in Non Stop, which has one heck of a catchy tune but is undone by some standardized and predictable arrangements.Sagar and Roshni's Nee Kallalo also works really well-It has all the catchy elements that one looks forward to from a Devi track and also, the tune is delightful!..Ding Dong and Tuttodoi are massively cliched and make no impact whatsoever while Venu's Soundarya is a stock tune from Devi, but still works pretty well, barring the predictable and cheesy chorus.Namo Vankatesa has Devi doing his usual thing, yet again!

Adhurs(Telugu,Devi Sri Prasad)

The intro song,Siva Sambho has awful vocals by Devi and the tune which starts off well goes awry.Hariharan is the star of Chandrakala-With a beautiful tune,Hariharan pulls off a winner on his own with some fantastic vocals.Roping Mika to croon Pilla Nee Valla Kadhu is a pleasant surprise-It has a typical DSP tune with an enjoyable tune and the composer keeps the mood intact throughout the song. The slow arrangements in Chary is enticing but the song as a whole is middling, with some surprisingly adept vocals by Junior NTR.Neethone reminds so much of the composers work in Ready and fails to make an impact while Baba Sehgal sings his way to glory in Assalaam Valekhum, the Kodi Kodi Vedakodi revisited!..Devi Sri Prasad's Adhurs soundtrack is massy and works pretty well!

Kasko(Telugu,Premgi Amaran)

Naveen and Sujatha's Krishnaveni has a tad routine tune but it is very enjoyable and including the 'Vasthadu Naa Raju' piece in the middle makes it all the more corny.Whistle Kottu reminds of Premgi's work in Thozha but has all the ingredients, mainly Devi Sri Prasad's vocals to make an impact.Nachave Nachesave has Premgi using a comparatively simple tune to good effect with good backgrounds along with SP Charan's good vocals while Dheera Gambheera, with mundane orchestration falls flat.Telusa Telusa, with a Timbaland styled orchestration also works, thanks to the catchy tune with some addictive hooks.Premgi Amaran's debut telugu soundtrack in Kasko is functional.

Leader(Telugu,Mickey J Meyer)

Maa Telugu Thalliki is highly unconventional-It has some awe-inspiring backgrounds and using Late Sri Tanguturi Surya Kumari's original in the background is a complete knockout!..Naresh Iyer and Shwetha Pandit are at their best in crooning Aunana Kadana,a typical Mickey'ish heartwarming tune that impresses immediately.Vandemataram is Rahman-Whether it comes to the tune(which is reminiscent of One Love) or the backgrounds and it is needless to say,the song is awesome and immediately strikes a chord.Shwetha Pandit's vocals is the highlight of Rajashekara, which is interestingly arranged with brilliant changes in tempo at different intervals of the song!Hey CM is another gem of a song-With very imaginative interludes, this track exposes Mickey's creativity to the fullest and Sunitha Sarathy,as usual impresses with her dreamy vocals.Sreelu Pongina's prayer like sound is absolutely mesmerizing,to say the least!..The final instrumental invoking Maa Telugu Thalliki is nothing short of stunning-It is just too good for words!..Trust Shekhar Kammula to come out with Mickey J Meyer's best-And he does!Leader's soundtrack is a stirring triumph of Mickey's composing skills!

Bindaas(Telugu,Bobo Shashi)

Karthik's vocals and the infectious orchestration make Girija Girija a clear winner while even Ranjith's vocals doesnt help the routine and noisy title track.Beyond Bobo Shashi's frivolousness in Entamma, the song actually has a good tune and is sung beautifully by Karthik and Anuradha Shriram while Jassie Gift's Suraangani is annoying in every department, even the lyrics.Coco Nanda and MC Bullet's version of Suraangani is bearable, only because of the orchestration.Jum Gara Gara is yet another messy attempt by the composer and only manages to annoy while Character of Ajay has an assortment of catchy sounds bordering a rather patchy tune.Last track,Hemachandra's Spirit of Bindaas also falls flat. After an impressive debut in Kulir 100,Bobo falters big time in Bindaas.

Saleem(Telugu,Sandeep Chowta)

The spunky arrangements in Mama Mia and Baby Baby remind of the composers work in Super and Bujjigadu but it has now become a trademark Sandeep's style and the tracks, needless to say work very well. The haunting backgrounds in I Wanna talk to you work in its favour and Neekitha Nigam's vocals is another highpoint. The overall sound in Kalti Kalti evokes interest but it gets boring pretty soon while Lite Le Lo is loaded with familiar sounds along with a mundane tune.Freak Out is frivolous Sandeep Chowta in action and the song simply falls flat.Swargam Narakam also sounds good but is very short while Poolu Gusa Gusa has a very familiar tune used in a very interesting way-The assortment of catchy sounds does the trick in this song!..After a dud in Josh,Sandeep Chowta bounces back strongly with Saleem!

Arya 2(Telugu,Devi Sri Prasad)

Mr.Perfect is typical Devi-Has all the enjoyable elements including good lyrics and very good rendition by Baba Sehgal. But Devi's frivolousness completely spoils the song,in the remix version!..Even K.K's vocals doesnt help the meandering Uppenantha which has an oh-so-routine chorus, but Devi does show his creativity,to an extent in the interludes.Baby He Loves You is tacky and doesnt make any impact whatsoever while Karige Loga is an uninspiring pathos song with Kunal Ganjawala and Meghad towering over a trite tune.Ringa Ringa is pure manic fun, true to Devi Sri Prasad's style. The techno sound in My Love is Gone works in its favour with excellent vocals by Ranjith, but it is foolish to even make a comparison with You Rock My World from Arya. After an incredible soundtrack in Arya,Devi follows it up with a downright uninspiring soundtrack for its sequel!

Jayeebhava(Telugu,SS Thaman)

Gundellona's tune is a tad routine, with laughable lyrics. But on the other side,The bouncy arrangements and Mamta Mohandas' vocals make it listenable.Kanti Chooputo seems to be inspired from Jagadam Jagadam(Shiva),but the grandiose in orchestration and Ranjith's vocals help things considerably.Okkasari has a meandering tune, but the choice of singers in Karthik and Shreya Ghoshal and the generous proportion of synth infused in the arrangements help.Telupu Rang gets into a catchy mode in the middle after a pedestrian opening while Zindagi has an addictive orchestration and an absorbing enough tune but has Adnan Sami doing a Udit Narayan here!..Thaman's soundtrack in Jayeebhava is better than some of his recent works, but certainly isnt in any way,earth-shattering!..

Ek Niranjan(Telugu,Mani Sharma)

Ranjith's quirky rendition added with some impressive Mani Sharma'ish backgrounds makes the title song a really corny track, and the lyrics adds to the feel too!..The neat rhythmic tune in Gundello is highly enjoyable, which is perhaps the one reason why we have come to like Mani Sharma for!..Mahammari's overall sound is catchy but the tune is a complete let down, not to mention the oh-so familiar chorus.Despite a good arrangements,Karthik's Sameera falls flat, reminding of dozen of other Mani's tracks.Evaru Lerani also falls under the same category but the pleasant tune and some good vocals swing it in its favour.Narthana Thara,a tribute to Michael Jackson with a fusion of some of his songs is a decent enough attempt!..Mani Sharma's Ek Niranjan is an average fare.

Village Lo Vinayakudu(Telugu,Manikanth Kadri)

Karthik's Neeli Meghama, despite sounding a little like the chorus of Chinna Chinna(En Swaasa Kaatre)works beautifully, with mesmerizing arrangements and an enchanting tune.Aha Na Pellanta remix by Baba Sehgal and Manikanth is enjoyable for the most part, but the same cannot be said for Benny Dayal's Superman, mainly due to the assembly-line tune.Shwetha Mohan sounds awesome in the mellifluent Chinukai Varadai, ably supported by Hariharan.Haricharan towers over Theese Prati Swaasa,a stunning melody with some excellent interludes, while the composer's reworking of Muddugaare Yashoda, the Annamacharya Kriti is laudable-He adds an interesting layer to an already great musical piece. Both the versions,by Guru Priya and Sooraj works effectively. But the Theme Music with some stunning violin pieces by Karthik Iyer is the highlight of the soundtrack.Manikanth Kadri, for sure has a winner in Village Lo Vinayakudu soundtrack!

Shankam(Telugu,SS Thaman)

Mahalakshmi is pure Thaman style-With an enjoyable tune and hep arrangements, this track works with Karthik's neat rendition being another highlight!..Dhakku Dhakku fails even with a host of some good singers like K.K and Rahul Nambiyar, mainly due to the routine tune while Maamu has some good backgrounds undone by a mundane tune and Udit Narayan's vocals.Dheeradhi Dheera,a hero worship track is predictably superfluous but passes due to some ebullient vocals while Ei Baboi, with a stock tune is instantly forgotten. The theme of Shankam, with an interesting mix of rousing sounds works effectively.Thaman as usual meanders again in this soundtrack and is getting supremely stereotyped with each passing soundtrack!..

Ganesh(Telugu,Mickey J Meyer)

With a rather scratchy beginning,Karthik infuses life into Chal Chalore,a lively and an enjoyable number.Tanemando reminds a lot of the composer's earlier compositions in Happy days and Kotha Bangaru Lokam, but the song as such is beautifully compiled with mesmerizing arrangements.Mickey rarely fails in such songs!..Rajakumari,despite some catchy hooks has a stale tune while Lallaila Majnu is too simplistic and hackneyed to make an impact. But Mickey makes up for it with the next two tracks,Yele Yele and Raja Ganaraja-Yele Yele has an enchanting tune with amazing orchestration and SriMathumitha sounds awesome here.Meanwhile,Ranjith's Raja Ganaraja is seeped in Mickey's style-Has an instantly addictive tune complete with rocking arrangements and corny lyrics!..Despite tune-ageing that is glaringly evident in some of the tracks,Mickey J Meyer does wonderfully well in Ganesh!..

Banam(Telugu,Mani Sharma)

Kadile Padam, with an enticing tune and excellent backgrounds just rocks-Shankar Mahadevan is unbelievable in this song!..Hemachandra and Saindhavi's Naalo Nenena, with a dulcet tune is amazing and Hemachandra is particularly fantastic in this song!..Shreya Ghoshal towers over Mogindi Jeganta in a totally Non-Mani'ish tune and this track is another great add-on to this soundtrack. But the highlight of the soundtrack is Padara Padara-With soaring backgrounds and a kick-ass tune,Mani literally elevates this song to somewhere with his imaginative orchestration and choice of singers!..The Banam theme, with a beautifully arranged tune(used repetitively)is mighty impressive!..Mani Sharma frays from his trademark style of composing and comes up with an inspiring soundtrack in Banam-A pleasant surprise!..

Anjaneyulu(Telugu,S S Thaman)

Despite the dated tune,Ranjith's Dil Se Bolo has become the by-now-trademark style of SS Thaman and is quite catchy and is very listenable.Naveen chips in with cool vocals in the simple and catchy Yem Vayaso-The female singer,Jyotsna is also quite good in her rendition!..Shankar Mahadevan's Anjali is breezy and tuneful and the composer adds some really good interludes in the middle!..The folkish Olammy is a typical Andhra style of Kuthu and Karthik infuses life into this song, like he does for any other song.SPB surprisingly sounds dreadful in Nuvvu Kantapadanante and the song itself doesnt make any impact whatsoever. The manic Raajukuley Raaju makes for adequate fun-The highpoint is the corny tune, added with Suchitra's vocals and backgrounds in right proportion!..Thaman's Anjaneyulu is vibrant and listenable, but one might get the feeling the composer is getting into a loop!..

Josh(Telugu,Sandeep Chowta)

Vittal Rahul's College Bulloda, beyond the typical telugu'ish addictive hooks in the paragraphs fails to impress mainly due to the worn out tune.Bad Boy,beyond the exciting prelude is very predictable and Ranjith's confident vocals also goes in vain.Sowmya's Aawara Hawa,is at best annoying while Sandeep Chowta and Kunal Ganjawala's Diridiri goes one step ahead in boring the listeners and is pure uninteresting!..Karthik's Neetho Vunte works, mainly due to the pleasant, wonderful tune backed with excellent vocals by Karthik.Rahul and Ujjaini's Evvariki is the most interesting song in this soundtrack-Rahul's quirky vocals works big time while the song per se,has some excellent backgrounds along with a catchy tune. The 3 bit songs, with the local flavour are passable.Sandeep Chowta's soundtrack for Josh is seeped with mediocrity and isn't satisfactory!..

Magadheera(Telugu,M.M.Keeravani)

Ranjith and Shivani's Bangaru Kodi Petta remix(From Gharana Mogudu)has the same charm as its original and Ranjith,as usual impresses with his vocals.Anooj Guruwara and Reeta's Panchadhara Bomma also works due to its simple catchy tune which is also arranged well.Rest of the soundtrack is terribly outdated stuff from the composer which completely drowns the soundtrack.Daler Mehndi's Cheppane Cheputhu Vanka perhaps stresses the fact-a completely uninteresting track with a boring tune, also undone by minimal backgrounds.Jassie Gift's manic title track is oh-so predictable and almost looks like the composer hasn't put too much effort in making the backgrounds interesting. The final track,Naakosam Nuvvu is too simplistic and mundane to make any impact.S.S Rajamouli has no doubt been a talented director(And it shows in his films),but Iam surprised at the fact that he's still stuck with Keeravani even after so many dud soundtracks that he got from the composer!..

Kalavaramaye Madilo(Telugu,Sharreth Vasudevan)

Chitra's vocals for sure makes a huuge impact in the mellifluous and immensely beautiful title track that is sure to be one of the best songs of the year!..Chitra's heartfelt singing is evident even in the Guru Brahma chanting even as the carnatic hook after the chanting is stupendously rendered by her!..For Neelo Anuvantha, the composer joins Chitra for a lively and a catchy melody and Sharreth impresses with his vocals too!..Hariharan and Kalpana's spirited singing does the trick for the rythmic melody,O Nene O Nuvvani even as the tune composed by Sharreth is awesome!..Chitra and composer again get behind the mike for Kari Varadhuni which is the soundtrack's highlight-The cheesy background piece that flows along with the song speaks of composer's creativity while the moment where the composer takes over from Chitra is so well put forth in the song!..Sharreth's short Sarigari Sarigari is simplistic, but apt while Chitra's Tholi Tholi Aaselenno is also very lively and the composer adds some interesting hooks that work in the favour of the song. The final track Pallavinchane reminds me of Ye Swaasa lo(Nenunnanu),which iam not sure why but as a song this is the only track that falters due to predictable and localized elements!..Sharreth Vasudevan's soundtrack in Kalavaramaye Madilo is in one word,incredible!!..And roping Chitra to sing more than half of the songs, for sure has a surreal effect on the soundtrack-Dont miss this one!

Current(Telugu,Devi Sri Prasad)

Benny Dayal's title track is super groovy and Devi adds just the right elements to dish out one absorbing number!..Ammayilu Abbayilu has a silly tune beginning and the chorus but eventually gets into the Devi mould when it reaches the paragraphs while Rekkalu is too simplistic and oh-so reminiscent of his other telugu songs.Your my love, sung by Devi has one helluva tune and the overall tune is outright infectious!..And the tune is just suited for Devi's voice too!..But the surprise package is Neha Bhasin's Atu Nuvve-this track is fabulously tuned by Devi, which is rare considering the fact that it is a very slow melody(One genre, which Devi seems to have forgotten,in recent times!)..Devi Sri Prasad bounces back strongly with this soundtrack after a series of duds, both in tamil and telugu!
